this is the blog post to show jackie how to blog. also, she says i never talk about her so i thought i would go ahead and let you know she is the best. here is her picture. she is going to start a blog. i love her but i am not to sure how consistent she will be in the blogosphere, like i have room to talk.

talk amongst yourselves.

Testing testing.

this will be a big week as we launch the alive easter promotion and continue to push for the womens conference. i will upload art on both of these this week. okay, 12:04 and i MUST get to bed as i have to hit the gym in the morning at 6:30.

lets hope the widget works, if it does, my blogging powers will be re-activiated.

i am in need of feed back on the artwork i posted last week. cant you hook a brother up?

what a weekend, i am still recovering. we had our normal service schedule then went on the road again to a VERY SMALL church. now we have no problem doing this but it was pretty crazy. enough said about that.

so 2 weeks ago a kid got caught taking money OUT of the offering bag. he is one of your typical wanna be paul wall white boys. he took the money out of the bag, put it under his shirt and did not realize the guy sitting next to him was a cop. just thought i would share. we did not press charges but he is now coming to see one of the counselor’s once a week.

great all start game last night. lebron did his thing, and shaq is just funny.

trade rumors have steve-o going to the sonics for ray allen, that would be sweet.

holla @ ya boy.

glad you posted again bu.

here are a few picks from one of our big nights @ CRAVe. this was last night. attendance was down, we only had about 210 but the atmosphere rocked. please excuse the photos, i did not have time to go in and photoshop any of them! yikes. i am leaving myself SO vulnerable right now, im uncomfortable…(crossing my arms, putting my hands under my pits, looking around, smelling)

Okay, control your excitement this is my third post today.

if you are an english freak, or your attention span is shorter than mine, which is very short, you might be upset @ how this blog reads.it is kind of like my mind throwing up on the screen, sorry.

This has been a crazy week. it is funny to me that when a leader is attacked, those who are close to him feel for him and on some level carry those burdens. that happened with me this week but even more so with a friend of mine.

imagine a kid who is 21 and anointed beyond belief. not just like “oh, he will be a good preacher some day”, imagine a jakes, ed young, parsley, type in the making. well this poor kid works round the clock at a church with a bi-vocational sr. pastor. i can only imagine the stress that pastor must be under. the understudy as we will call him works amazing hours and does a good job. over the course of a week, said understudy is forced to face some drama and deal with it. the sr. pastor handles the situation with grace and class, and shares his heart with the young man about what is going on, etc. the young man becomes so burdened for the sr. pastor he forgets his problems and literally breaks down on the phone with me over the love and compassion he wants to be able to move in. he even brings up a 3rd party friend and discusses how much he cares for his friend.

this is a true story and the names are kept secret for a season, trust me when i tell you there is more to come on this as the situation develops.

CONCLUSION:
i was touched by how my friend was so burdened in spite of his situation. leadership on some levels must be driven on compassion and caring. to many leaders today rule with a scepter or even a velvet hammer. Jesus moved in love, even during frustrating or difficult times. i love to see how God moves through people to show us different sides of Him. my friend was so burdened during our conversation that he broke down several times, even once in discussing our mutual friend. it was great to see this young man growing. i know God has amazing plans for his life.

well i am off. i have to clean up a few things as Jackie is tending to those who are passing and yet another minister buddy is coming over for me to help him with his resume. This guy is good and i know God can use him. he just needs some polish to his resume and some insight on how to spread it around.

until next time…stay black.

for my peeps. isaiah and ashlyn.

i would love to know what you think of our new bulletin cover? this is a work in progress. i repeat: THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION.

also, this is a new series from our youth pastor al, he rocks. check out his site here: http://www.doyoucrave.com

okay. valentines day is SO hallmark. I love my wife so much, my kids are the bomb, but this is all candy and cards. i dont need a reminder how important they are to me, or how i should tell them, its done.

enough said.

we have our womens conference in a few weeks. it will be great. speakers are coming together, posters being designed. this year will rock. also, check out http://www.wowcalvary.com. it is a site i have been working on.

attached is our easter ad. i like this years campaign.

we went to GA sunday after service for pastor to preach. it was a small church, a couple hunderd, but it was packed and they came ready. it was a really good time. travel was a bit of a bear but we made it. okay, ihave to get in bed so i can be at the gym by 7, ugh!

much love bloggers, enjoy.

a friend of mine made a great comment today as his daughter ran out of the lunch room and up to him as we got in the car to go to lunch. she just wanted to give him a hug, tell him she loved him and that she got a the solo in her play.

“guys, life is about your kids, your wife, and god…everything else just takes up time”

so true.

it is way to late to start blogging, however, my guilt is keeping me awake. I have not blogged in near a week.

cinnamon. who knew cinniamon trees grew nearly 30 feet tall and that they are sweet all the way through? also, every piece of the tree is used. cinnamon was one of the greatest trade resources during bible times.

the interesting thing about cinnamon is this, no matter how many layers deep you go with it, it is still sweet. how many layers deep do you go before you stop being sweet?

just curious.

i have PLENTY to blog on tomorrow, but i must go to bed now. if i can get through the sonic wall, plenty more coming in the a.m.
